Do I need to get a permit for a mobile office?

Typically, you will need to contact your local building department to be sure that you have the proper permits.

What's the difference between modular and prefabricated buildings?

There is no difference. “Modular buildings”, “prefabricated buildings” and “pre-engineered structures” are all terms for buildings manufactured off-site in a factory-controlled environment that are then installed on-site once the site work is complete.

What sort of energy efficiency can I expect?

Energy efficiency is controlled by the same factors for any buildings whether it is stick-built or prefabricated. Algeco can design and build modular buildings to meet energy efficiency specifications, providing good building’s insulation, insulated doors and windows, high-quality HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning).

Is mould a concern when constructing a building?

Mould is a concern for any building whether it is stick-built or prefabricated. Algeco provides efficient quality control and building materials, reducing the risk occurring after the building is completed (leaks, excess moisture, or mould).

What building materials are used in modular buildings?

Modular buildings use the same high-quality materials used in conventionally constructed buildings.

What building standards do modular buildings meet?

Modular buildings meet or exceed all applicable Russian codes.

Do your buildings come with a warranty?

All Algeco products carry a manufacturer’s warranty.

Does installation require skilled labour?

Yes. However Algeco offer turnkey services delivering a project from start to end with the necessary workforce.

Does Algeco oversee the onsite installation?

Yes. Algeco can serve as your general contractor to oversee all onsite installation processes.

Can modular buildings be customized?

Yes. What is possible regarding customization is only limited by the constraints of the project.

What is typical delivery turn-around for a modular building?

Modular buildings can be built and ready for occupancy weeks and even months ahead of the time required for traditional construction. By concurrently preparing the building site and manufacturing the building’s modules, time savings between 30 % and 50 % over conventional construction are typical.

Does modular result in an inflexible building design and a limited choice of materials?

No. Modular buildings are inherently flexible and even more than that: they are "future-proof", being easily reconfigured when facility investments are needed.

Are modular buildings as sturdy as stick-built buildings?

Yes. Modular buildings meet and often exceed the same building and fire safety codes as traditionally constructed buildings.

What are the benefits of building modular?

Modular buildings offer numerous benefits.

The chief benefit to modular buildings is the speed with which a building is completed. Thanks to modular construction, site preparation and fabrication of building modules occur concurrently, and the facility is occupied sooner than with stick-built construction.

This process also enhances quality and simplifies logistics on the job site (scheduling, construction sequences): Algeco acting as your general contractor, it alleviates problems associated with labour shortages on job sites; modules being manufactured inside a factory, a great part of the construction is protected from adverse weather conditions.

Because modular construction modules are manufactured off-site in a factory-controlled environment, it enables modular buildings to achieve tighter manufacturing specifications and to be inherently “greener” than similar site-built buildings.

Finally, flexibility is maximized because modular buildings can be relocated, advantage conventional buildings do not offer.
